me, white walls?

Who would'a thought
that
I would start painting my walls white?

By choice?

And love it?

I certainly didn't.

But I did.

And I do.

I continue to be  amazed
at how paint can change a room.

It totally transformed my kitchen.

 Take a peek

..

Next post...we'll talk details.
but for today
I am off to my girl-young-in's basketball tourney
and
I have started a new project.
Yes, I did.
And it  may or may not
have included more white paint.

Oh Rene', I just love everything about your kitchen. It looks so clean and fresh and that island is amazing!!!! Love the wood. I can't believe how big your pantry is either...sigh. You've been a busy girl too:-)

Also, the camera I got is a Nikkon D3100. Just an entry level, but even more than I can handle right now...still have lots of learning to do, but it's way better than the old CoolPix..hahaha

Hope all is well with you guys,

I'm with you - I don't paint anything white except ceilings, trim, and doors...certainly not walls! But my taste seems to be changing (inspired by beautiful blogs such as yours)and I'm seriously considering using white in several rooms in my house. Your kitchen is stunning...thanks for sharing!

Your kitchen is soooo charming! It's so crisp and bright with the white paint. I'm loving that plate rack above the door to your pantry. You have great inspirational ideas.

Love the white paint on your walls. It gives a crisp, clean sense of simplicity. When we moved into our old Victorian farmhouse, the walls were either that primitive mustard yellow or wall papered with sage green trim. We are in the process of painting it all white and adding color/contrast with accessories.

Love the white but then I have always thought white belongs in the kitchen! Yours looks so sweet...love all the details, can't wait.

Your white is lovely! I too am a color girl. Can't imagine myself doing white, except on trim. But you make it look warm and comforting!

It is beautiful, just beautiful! I love the white, I'm gonna show my husband to let him know that he is on the right track... he wants me to paint the living room and his office white. He says he thinks it will brighten up the place, I think think it will make me fall in love with it all over again! t.xoxooxo

It is beautiful, just beautiful! Everything looks so cheerful, bright, I love it! My husband suggested white for our living room and I can't wait to get started on it. Ofcourse pulling wallpaper off the walls does not sound like fun to me. Maybe I can convince the kids that it is a new demolition game I created!

I used to hate white walls because I spent so many years in icky old apartments! Now after living in a rental painted colors we did not pick I'm dreaming of white walls. And I've noticed most of my decorating inspiration photos on Pinterest have white walls. Can't wait to own my own home someday. Your kitchen looks perfect in white! I love every lovely vintage bit of it! I'm exited to see more details and close ups!

Hi Rene ~ your kitchen looks beautiful in white...so fresh and clean looking! I haven't had white walls in my home in years. Sometimes I think of painting them, but all of my "stuff" is now cream (including large furniture, etc.) so I think I will just leave it. LOVE your kitchen though! It looks so cosy and comfortable! ~Stacy~

I love the white look of your kitchen. I've been trying to get my Mom to paint our kitchen white, so I think I need to show her your pretty pictures.

Funny how we are all lighting up now isn't it? When we built our house 13 years ago, we had all the rooms painted builder beige because we didn't know our decorating scheme yet. After a few months, we couldn't take that colorless house anymore and painted everything.

Now, we want to paint it all back to beige or white again. Like you said, it is amazing how different the lighter colors make the rooms feel. Everything seems so big and bright in a white room.

Thanks so much for joining me at Your Cozy Home Party! Have a great day!

Beautiful. Your entire blog is beautiful. I recently painted my kitchen cabinets white and I'm really debating what to do with the rest of the walls. If I paint them white it will be the first white room I've had in about 30 years. Big step. I've been mulling over the white thing for a while now but I'm just not sure it's me...

I love the pics of your kitchen! I agree that the white transformed it, I was looking back at the old pics and it made a huge difference! I am curious about your countertops. Are they wood? I love the look and would like someone's feedback about how they like wood countertops. What do you finish it with and how does it clean, easily? Thanks again for the pics!

I too, am anxious to do white again. We are nearing a kitchen re-do and when I mentioned an old world white look my husband couldn't believe it. Our home is filled with colored walls now, 'summer squash' in the living room. But I think it's time. I'm so glad to have found you, I truly believe we are 'kindred spirits' and I love your blog. I, myself am still new to blogging but looking forward to getting to know you and the others better. Thanks again for the sharing your beautiful kitchen.
