Because

I don't have enough to do.
I gave myself a challenge...

sept 29: I'm almost done and I'm out of words. yes, it happens.

sept 30: and finally, more pink roses.
What can I say?
My roses are a reminder to me of grace.
I so do NOT deserve them.
********************************************

As for my camera, I did learn a bit.
I did get out of auto...sometimes.
I did learn (I think I already knew it)
that what I really like to do is
to sit in the evening and photo edit.
It's like decorating
but
 I don't have to move and I don't make a mess.
 Perfect.

You do not  know
what a boost
it gave me to finish one of my projects.
Maybe, there's hope yet?

I have been away (from the computer) for a couple of weeks...
keeping my head down and focusing on the work at hand.
I am getting there.

It feels good.

I will be back soon,

with project reveals and a giveaway.

Have a lovely weekend.

p is for...

 pie
peach pie
fresh peach pie
mmm...my favorite

making homemade pie crust is a must-learn in this house
mrs mk was our first pie-baker
then mrs (miss) g took on the role
she took pie crust to an all new level
delish

before she (miss g) left home,
we made sure to get her recipe
and
little sis had a private cooking lesson

last week the peaches were finally ripe
so girl young-in went solo

big sis...watch out...there's a new girl in town
you taught her well
~

here's the recipe for the crust
it has shortening and butter in it
shortening for flakiness
butter for flavor
it is good

Grace's
(and soon to be Abigail's)
World Famous PieCrust

1 Tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup FROZEN shortening cut into small pieces
pulse above ingred in food processor 9 times
move to separate bowl
6 Tablespoons cold water
Stir
Add 2 Tablespoons water if needed.

Divide into 2 piles
wrap each pile in saran wrap
Refrigerate for 1 hour

seeing the whole picture...

 or

my love/hate relationship with blogging

I love blogging.
Blogging is good for me
Blogging makes me go out of my own little world;
out of my comfort zone

Blogging  makes me look for beauty

even when the bigger picture looks like this

To be honest,  much of my life  looks like this
(we're still working on painting the house)
a pile of unfinished  projects

every now and then I feel the need to  'fess up
and
let you know this

lest you think I have it all together.

I don't.

To be honest,
I'm drowning right now in unfinished projects,
including blogging.

I hate that I feel so behind.

I think I'll focus on this right now.

thank you for the sweet words regarding my last post...I'm not really that close to either situation...they both just really touched my heart.

Today was a rough day.
My heart is heavy.
My mother's heart is aching.
For mothers here in my world
and
mothers in the blog world.

I have been praying for a friend
whose daughter attempted suicide last night.

Can you imagine this mother's heart?
I can't.

I have been praying for a fellow blogger
who buried her son today.

Can you imagine this mother's heart?
I can't.

Both ladies are my  sisters in the Lord.
Please,
won't you join me,
in praying
for these ladies and their families?

My day was a bit out of sorts.

Normal felt wrong.
Normal felt selfish.
Normal felt frivolous.

But in keeping with the challenge of 1000 gifts...
to find the gift  in today
I went searching.

and I found these to add to my list:

pink roses
and
the written Word of Hope.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted...
