barn sale~twenty twelve...

Drats!
I missed the where women create party.
Again.
I was sure I would have everything in order this year.
But, nope...didn't happen.
Next year?

I have shown you this before

Really, this is  where I spend most of my time creating.
which leads me to the real purpose of my post.

Did ya' thought I had forgotten
 about
my
Miss Gracie's & Friends
Vintage Barn Sale?

Nope, I'm not forgetful;
just  distracted.
by vintage camp trailers
( it's coming along quite nicely, but that is for another post)

It was a grand sale.
and
I think that  it just keeps getting grand-er  every year.
I am always so  amazed and humbled
at the way it all comes together.
My  vendors are so great, and the customers ...
well, they just keep a-comin'.

I had one gal tell me that it  made her feel like
she got to do  something that was in the magazines.

I  always strive to make this an event...so I took that as a compliment!

Let's start with my stuff...be warned...there's lots of it!

outside the barn

My MR.  whipped up this galvanized wall  for me.
(I've had the panels for years and have wanted to use them somehow in my displays.)

I wanted something portable so I could  take it to the shop to use there, too.

It is just what I wanted.
I intended to add some lace but ran out of time...next-time!

a bit of industrial

next, we'll move to inside the barn

I love my  hanging porch railing~it's the original side porch railing  from the house.
I love it  with the textures and layers of
the doors and chandy.

Back outside.
I did something different this year
just for fun

bright, HAPPY color

this is the part when I say

"boy, do I have a lot of stuff!"

Do you have time for a bit more?
Here are some of *the friends* spaces.

It's party time...

my (white) super bowl...

a few days before my
MISS GRACIE'S
and
FRIENDS
sale
when I began  to work on my vignettes
and making various and numerous requests
of my very handy Mr.
(like moving my crystal chandies-what's a chandy, he wanted to know)

I informed him...this is  my super bowl
my opportunity to give it all I've got
to play like I've never played before
 this he could understand

so here is  my playing field

before and after

The sale was my best ever
the best in sales
and
the  best in all of the before-hand stuff
(remember this post?)
~
~
we worked better together
~
mom (me) was happier
and as you know
when mom is happier
everyone is happier
~
I was able to set up more  displays and details
than in the past
not all that were in my head
but more
most things were priced
~
so all in all
it was good
darn good

this is what I snagged from a fellow vendor
isn't it wonderful?
I have no idea what I am going to do with it
ideas?
~
betcha you are all tired of sale posts
and ready for me to move on
I am ready to move on.
I need to catch up
on laundry, dishes, clutter,
and
blogging.
I am ready to enjoy my summer
with my girl-young-in
and
my Mr.

work...

Work  is a blessing[YES! A BLESSING!]

God has so arranged the world
that work is necessary
and He gives us hands and strength to do it.
The enjoyment of leisure would be nothing if we had
only leisure. It is the joy of work well done
that enables us to enjoy rest, just as it is the
experiences of hunger and thirst that make food and
drink such pleasures. -

Discipline: The Glad Surrender
Elisabeth Elliot

I loved the work of the past few weeks...the progress...the creativity...the pulling it all together.
and now  am loving  rest....

I will share photos of the sale for WW

toodles,
