monticello whites...

Last week,
we loaded  up and headed out
for our favorite vacation getaway destination
portland, oregon

first stop
monticello antique mall
 best antique mall
ever

It is always so fun to shop
there are so many familiar names,
great junk to be found
a plethora of ideas for display and decorating,
and
a view of current trends.
(They are always a step ahead of us)

this is my favorite

bella
this is my favorite

beaucoup
 this is my favorite

no, this must be my favorite

maison douce and a thing for roses

really,  these girls are my favorite
they have that farmhouse, romantic style
that I am lovin' so much right now.

and last but NOT least
is our own Kathleen
She doesn't show us enough  of her booth
so
will!

great stuff

and
very nicely displayed

my favorite was this unusual scale

now for the very best part
Kathleen and I got to spend 4 whole hours together
 junking
(and talking-I don't think we ever stopped)
she took me out of town
to the country to an old barn sale
the kind where you have to dig for treasures
so dig we did
yep
and that is why
there aren't any pictures of us
we were too busy
digging

 my finds
+ one very nice french-ey bed that is already in storage
(I promise to show you when it is all finished)

and this is what I brought home from Monticello
(I love it, Debbie!)

where did I put this?, you might ask
and that would be a very good question.
one that most of my family will ask.
for  now, it's in the barn
the plan is to work it into my kitchen
but  that will involve some re-arranging
another project to add to the list...

I absolutely LOVE that scale! I'm so glad you got to shop with Kathleen, how fun. I got to meet her last summer when her family came down to Disneyland. She stopped by my store. I think its great when people get to finally meet each other. Sounds like your had a great time.

Take care, Sue

It was you! I had ask Joyce who had bought the cabinet and if she had a blog. She didn't think she had one. I had thought of you when she told me who had bought it.

I'm so glad you got it, I loved that little cabinet. It would have been fun to meet you, maybe next time.

Thanks again Rene for the great sale! I can't wait to see it in your kitchen!

Oh, what a fabulous post! I just have to go back and study each and every picture. I wish I could have been there. And so many scales, we just did a post about them. Now you've given me even more ideas. Thanks for the inspiration. The hutch is gorgeous, and so you. I know you'll find a way to work it into your kitchen.

What a great place... LOVING that stack of old Black Books! And thanks for showcasing Kathleen's great space... I find that many Vendors and Stylists don't have sufficient time to showcase their talents & spaces nearly enough and enjoy the fruits of their labor on the foofing that we all ADORE and receive so much inspiration of. So I'm thankful for those who, like me, enjoy Photographing them so that they are captured for more to see, enjoy and be inspired by!

Thanks for stopping by my Organic Gypsy Post... tomorrow's Post is the 2nd leg of the tour...

So which one is your favourite again? Kidding! I love that scale and the black frame with a piece of music sheet inside was unexpected but really nice. The cabinet looks perfect: I'm looking forward to seeing it in your room.
