farmhouse friday...

I am excited to participate in a  new bloggy-party
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY
hosted by Laurie Anna

Your post can be about
Farmhouses in general, Farmhouse decor, Farmhouse cooking, Farmhouse gardening, whatever tickles your fancy as long as it has to do with Farmhouse Living
*

*
My style has been slowly evolving (isn't it always changing?)
 from shabby chic
to vintage-romantic-victorian-farmhouse style
sort of  a goulash of them all.
this isn't  my first rodeo with farmhouse style...
but it's been awhile (like back in the 80's) ...
I'm looking forward to all of the inspiration
new, fun  ways of using all of the old stuff...

Welcome to my home.

We are currently in process of an exterior makeover.

That means white paint!
Perfect for farmhouse style.
If you missed it,
you can read about my home's beginnings
here and here.

For this week's post
I'm going to show you the
2 sides we have finished painting.

This is what the same side looked like just 1 year ago.

It was the last side to be worked on.

See the diamond window?

That is our *signature* touch...

we  have added them to  the last 2 houses  we've worked on

this one is on the stairway wall

 back of the house

I'm gonna share a peek

 at the back door.

I've been doing neutrals for a while now
so I'm enjoying the pop of color.

Hopefully, we will paint the door
this weekend.

I'm thinking it will be __________.

What color do you think I'll choose?

I love your "signature". Is it because you take a diamond in the rough and make it shine again?
This is going to be fun to follow along with.

I am so excited that you chose a white house (I voted for it). It is looking beautiful. For the door...hmmm....how about raspberry. Yes, that is what I would choose. It is softer than red and more interesting. It will go beautifully with all shades of roses and flowers.

Opps...I forgot to say, "Thank you" for stopping by my blog. I stalk yours but never thought you would visit me. I am honored.

Your house is looking fabulous! How about a soft grayed blue for the backdoor? I love this new linky party and will try to join in next week. Have a great weekend!

I LOVE the light. Where did you get it from. I love your house. It's been my dream to have a Farmhouse but I'll probably be stuck in my tiny cottage. You have inspired me to make it more cute outside, tho. Thanx for sharing. Kelli

Living in a Victorian Farmhouse has always been a dream of mine, but I'm cool now with what I have....except for the fact I have NO porch boo and when I look at your home. It reminds me of all the things I love about these kind of houses. I love the new white and I think it is so cool you changed it up. The door should be, ummmmmm a dark teal? No?

Your farmhouse is so pretty. I love the sweet picture frame, the hook and the jar of flowers hanging on it by the door. I'll have to pop over to Farmhouse Friday and do a little dreaming. Blessings, Pamela

I love how the house is coming along and the white paint really suits her. Nice idea of hanging a jar filled with flowers as you enter the house:-)

Enjoy your weekend.

Oh my goodnessssss!!! I love it so much! White and white and more white please. I adore your vignette at the backdoor of the empty frame with hook and hanging flowers...that is so welcoming. I bet you are just tickled inside with how it is turning out. ox

OH! My other favorite would be TEAL. Yep, teal either light or dark.

Your home is just gorgeous to me. It appeals to every sense I have. I bet your kitchen even has that great smell of a Sunday dinner cooking on the stove.

Always love seeing your posts come up.

I'm so in love with your farmhouse. I read several back posts and loved the gingerbread tale. Nothing's a coincidence, everything happens for a reason now doesn't it?

That's why I'm wondering why my last 4 digits of my cell phone and the date of your house in the pictures are exactly the same: 1912Coincidence? I think not...so, I'll be reading your blog daily to find out our connection.

Can't wait to see it all finished! I know it will be gorgeous! We sided several years ago and now need to put in some more new windows...we seem to do everything backwards! :)

The house is gorgeous in white! I love all the details! I wonder if that door will be a bright red?

Ann from On Sutton Place said...

Love the stool with the watering can by the door. Just perfect!

EllenaElizabeth said...

I always like a dark red door, but it's hard to say when I'm not there to see it in the flesh...LOL
Whatever you choose will look super! I love looking at your blog and the updates on your house. It's my hearts desire to do something like that but the GFC and a bad back look like keeping me frustrated, so I'll just keep looking at your renos. I showed your blog to my friend and she loved it too. She said to say 'HI'. We live in Australia and drool over your house.

Recaptured Charm said...

You have a gorgeous home!! Any color would be beautiful on that door.. but I see a barn red or a sage green. Looking forward to seeing it when it's done.

I love your house. If I was young I would be doing the same thing. But I have no idea what color you should paint your door. I liked the rustic kind of way it looks now.

Paula said...

I enjoyed this post so much dear Rene`! Your house is so beautiful and has so much character!!! I LOVE the back door and the pop of lovely color in the flowers you have hanging there! The old door with the pretty lace, the stool with the watering can, and the old frame surrounding the lovely old jar of flowers all speaks to my heart and says home sweet home! Beautifully done as always! You inspire me so much! Love, Paula

Patti said...

That door is beautiful with it's details. Could you leave it like it is and maybe varnish it to protect it's existing paint?

I wish your house and my house could play together! Love it!

Thanks for linking up to Farmhouse Friday! xoxo LaurieAnna

Hmmm ... door color. how about a deep cerise pink? Not red; that's all over the place. But a beautiful rich deep pink, rather like the colors in those flowers at the door.

Or -- I am very partial to yellow doors, because they make me smile, and who can resist walking thru a happy yellow door?

But as I learned when we painted our house white back in June -- any color works!

Don't go timid. Let some color SING.
