Pièce de résistance...

These pieces are original to my house.

The chicken coop was full of architectural treasures

But this is the:

Pièce de résistance (From Wikipedia) - French term (circa 1839), translated into English literally as "piece of resistance", referring to the best part or feature of something (as in a meal), a showpiece, or highlight.

Your home is so beautiful and I love the gable decoration. I have been shopping for some to add in two places to the front of my home. I am having trouble figuring out the pitch of my roof, I had a carpenter figure it and I think he is wrong, I'm not ordering them to be made until I know for sure because they are almost $500.00 each. They are expensive, but so worth it. They add so much. Wish I yours, they are gems. Truly beautiful.

Oh how I love all your chippy architectural pieces Rene'! I missed a lot of it at a garage sale a few years ago. They had HUGE pieces for peaks etc. , but it was already sold. Why anyone would get rid of it is beyond my comprehension. Just lovely old pieces!

What beautiful treasures and I love the story about your homes gingerbread trim, I remember reading about it in another post and thought it was so amazing! I'm in Atlanta right now with my Mom she had some surgery on Monday and we are still here in the hospital, so I'm entertaining myself visiting blog after blog, she probably thinks I'm addicted, LOL!!

I love how that came back home to you. That is one of those God things. It had to be.
Worked in the shop today. It is going great in there. I have destressed and just put things in.
It isn't like an antique mall but hey things are selling well. So I guess I am doing something right.
