these are my people...

We gathered together on Sunday.

To celebrate with our children.

Our 30 years together...
~
~
~
I was overcome with gratitude.

My husband and I came from broken homes.
Homes filled with strife, drunkenness, and loneliness.
God has given us so much.
A deep, enduring love for each other.
A home filled with laughter and children.
Children who are best friends.
Children who love and serve the Lord.
Children who honor us.
This is grace.

We are friends.

We are family.

And now the the blessings continue ...
Are those not
the most precious cheeks
you have ever seen?

Wonderful! You're a testimony that even if your childhood wasn't the greatest, you don't have to use it as an excuse not to become something. This is a great post. Very uplifting.

What a beautiful family!
I came from a broken family and didn't have much of a childhood. The only really good times that I remember were the ones where I lived with my grandparents. I think that is what makes me like I am today.I strive to make my children's lives happy ones. You have a proecious family. I know that you are so thankful.

This post moved me to tears. Truly, amazing Grace! God delights in using us as His children to create families from His design. This is a richly blessed group of people, and you and your husband are wished many more years together. These pictures are priceless!!!

Tears..yes tears of joy for you and your dear family. It is so hard of overcome a negative childhood...I had one too.

Rene' you and your husband have done a wonderful job of raising them..and leading them in the way of the Lord. You have broken the GENERATIONAL CURSE.
http://www.gotquestions.org/generational-curses.html

Our kids also turned out great..one is a practicing Christian, however the other is not...and they have raised 3 children of their own, who are proving to be honorable, law abiding Americans..NOW if we could only get them to attend Church regularly.
Our son~in~law NEVER went to church or bible study when he was coming up...nor his parents..so that is the "fly in the ointment" here.
JMOPO....Marrying a non Christian when you ARE ONE...is VERY OFTEN NOT a good idea..with the thinking you will CHANGE them...often it does not happen that way.

But I pary each day for them..and I will not give up on it.

I, too, came from broken, drunken chaos- and those who have lived through the darkness embrace the light with the greatest grip. Your light shines brighter than others and you lead so many with your uplifting and honest posts. Congrats on the 30 years and the proof of your love in each other and God- what an awesome family photo.
