Julie and Julia...

the Movie.

I laughed.
I cried.
I loved it!

What touched me the most was Julia's passion

for cooking
and how it all came about.

She found something she liked,

she studied,

and she mastered.

In homeschooling we call that delight-directed study.

It is best kind of learning.

She didn't set out to have a *career*

She just did what she loved.

(disclaimer-I don't know if this is an accurate portrayal of Julia Child

but I did like what *this* story portrayed.)

Now, the parts about Julie that I could relate to
were the *blogging* issues.

You know what I'm talking about:

concern over her *audience*,
waiting for comments, and
getting lost in blogland.
Overall, it was a sweet story
that I enjoyed seeing with my girls.

**delight-directed study** indeed.

I saw this movie about a week ago with my daughter. We loved it. We also laughed and cried...came away feeling like LOVE IS STILL THERE and what we do in life does matter. Whether we COOK or BLOG, God has a plan for us all.

Thank you for sharing~

Love to you~Rebecca

Thank you for this review. I want to watch it when it comes out on DVD, which I hope will be soon. It sounds like my type of movie, especially since I love to cook and enjoy blogging.

The cooking was intense, wasn't it? As was the love of it and good food. Seeing it made me want to cook more than ever. You are right about the goodness of having a passion and then going for it.

Thanks for the review. I've been meaning to go see it, but haven't made it to the theatre yet. Now, if I can only talk jAne into coming with me!
