and the whites have it...

your  votes are in
white: 50
beige: 5
other: 2
darn,
I should have done one of those little polls on the sidebar;
I've always wanted to

on datenight
we took one last spin
in the old neighborhood
to search for a color

we do know how to have a good time, don't we?

this was my favorite in the beige/tan colors

but nothing to get too excited about

we spotted this pretty little lady

turret heaven

and I found this image on pinterest
Yes, I've been dabbling a bit,  on pinterest
(just what i need is another place to get lost out there)

(my friend Becky's house that I just adore)

and this one on Facebook

(thanks, Debbie)
yes, these make my heart skip a beat

so, white it shall be

 here we are as of
Saturday A.M.

come on, hurry, isn't it ready, yet (kindof like are we there yet?)
paint already, will you...there can't be more loose paint,
can there?

I don't sound like an impatient kid, do I?

and...Saturday afternoon

this is just primer
our trial run to see what we think

we are now discussing minute amounts of colorant
to get just the right shade of white
oh, brother.c.r.a.z.y.
come on back later in the week
I am working on a post showing the progress and story of our gal
and
you just have to see what else is new here...

so whatdoya think?

Guess what we're starting this weekend?

Painting.
Are  you surprised ?
My lady is getting a face-lift.

It is time for the painters to paint their own home.
(you know, kinda like the cobbler's children having no shoes)

She has been green for 10 years
and  the house we lived in before was green,  too.
I am ready for something new.
simple, fresh, and pretty

I  want to love it
and not choose anything too trendy.
Nor too sub-division-ey.

I want to fit her style.

We have narrowed it down to
 white
or
tan/beige

I have always been a painted lady kind of girl
so the thought of me doing
white
just white
is definitely going out of my box.
I want to accent her lines and architecture
but
there will be no more stripes and other such busy-ness

Are her  textures enough to add interest?

white  says vintage farmhouse
and
that is where my style is going

this one is my favorite
I'm leaning towards the white,
can you tell?

a little photo-editing
to see what it might look like

 white (almost)

beige

so what do ya think?
linking to white wednesday...
Happy 4th if I don't talk to you again.

tug-of-war...

It has been a tug-of-war of sorts
should I or shouldn't I?
To sale or not to sale?

my barn sale
that's what I'm talkin' about

This is my fourth year of doing them.

to describe them in 1 word

incredible

incredible sales
incredible customers

and

incredible WORK

paint, paint, paint
cause i
gotta have  inventory

empty the barn for the vendors
empty the shop for my display

that means put everything in the driveway
sort it, price it, display  it

then at 5:00 on the friday of the sale
if it's  not done
STASH IT!
(i'm never ready)

somewhere. anywhere. i don't care where.

there's the inside of the house
total disaster

Do I sound stressed?
the family tells me that I  stress
a bit lot

and then there's the fear?
can I do it?
can i pull it together in time?
will i have enough cool stuff?
can i live up to my expectations?

we (the 3 of us)
have talked, thought, talked some more, prayed, talked a lot more and finally reached a decision.
We need to do the sale
to recover financially from the winter of scarce work

but we are setting some goals.

1. commit it to the Lord
    all for Him... proverbs 3:5
2. play nice because nice matters.
3. adjust my expectations
if you've been here long you know I have a thing for presentation
      apparently, it makes me cranky
4. sacrifice quantity but not quality
5. keep talking to each other
6. stop painting by the sunday before the sale
I've said this before...let's do it this year
7. start pricing early
      like now
8. have fun

These are all photos of my stuff from past sales

and  these below are  from my other vendors.

*all of this has been sold*

I am finally excited and ready to get started
