Today was a rough day.
My heart is heavy.
My mother's heart is aching.
For mothers here in my world
and
mothers in the blog world.

I have been praying for a friend
whose daughter attempted suicide last night.

Can you imagine this mother's heart?
I can't.

I have been praying for a fellow blogger
who buried her son today.

Can you imagine this mother's heart?
I can't.

Both ladies are my  sisters in the Lord.
Please,
won't you join me,
in praying
for these ladies and their families?

My day was a bit out of sorts.

Normal felt wrong.
Normal felt selfish.
Normal felt frivolous.

But in keeping with the challenge of 1000 gifts...
to find the gift  in today
I went searching.

and I found these to add to my list:

pink roses
and
the written Word of Hope.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted...
psalm 34:18

I know what you mean about the week! An attorney that was a partner at the law firm where my hubby work in their office service center committed suicide Friday. He left a wife and 13 year old daughter. A patient at the ENT office where I work lost her 60 year old son to suicide last week. She is a kindly elderly German lady. The 9-11 weekend was difficult then my nephew and his wife had a baby girl. Kathryn's dad is a retired NYPD. Then my grandson Andrew and Tarrah had a son yesterday. The little fellow gave us quite a scare. My grandson Colton was suspended from school for 3 days, fighting with a boy after the kid dumped a smoothie on top of Colton's head! Then my nephew Sean (7) tripped at school on his untie shoe lace flew forward, someone opened the door and split his head open! He is recovery at home tonight. My co workers ex husband tried to beat her and her new beau to death with a police baton and the law is now looking for him! She sustained minor injuries and Levi is recovering from serious head trauma. Life is difficult but your pretty flowers made me smile. Thank you and know I am praying. Anne

Miss. Gracie ~ the story of Jack is so heart wrenching. I am praying for his family during this time. And your dear friend who's daughter attempted suicide & didn't succeed gives us hope that her daughter will give her opportunity of a second chance at life a warm embrace. A dear family of mine was not so lucky - thier daughter succeeded in her suicide last wednesday evening - she would have been 16 this upcoming October 3rd. So much pain that we just cannont understand...hugs to you, and for your friends family! xoox

It is hard to look from our lives into lives filled with pain. You have expressed it so well ... gratitude can be found in pain because of the One who bears our pain with us ... and the great Hope that we have.

Dear Miss Gracie ~ May God's peace, love and strength flow through and surround your dear friends in their time of grief.

That is a wonderful bit of comforting scripture.

Lives ended too soon - pure tragedy, and mothers left behind to grieve forever. I am so sorry, and yes I will pray for them today. God love these sisters in Christ and bring them comfort.

I'm always so sad to read things like this. I've gone through two suicides myself with family (a nephew and then a year later his sister). I can't imagine losing one child to this aweful death, but two! My heart was breaking for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. What do you say? Could you have said something to them to prevent it. It wasn't that my husband didn't try. My nephew was very close to him. The one sad thing is hearing my nephew didn't feel loved (his parents had divorced at an early age) and then seeing the funeral so packed that it was standing room only and there were so many people they were out the door. I know this is a long post, but if somehow your friends daughter could just know how much I'm sure she is loved and the impact she will leave on her family if she eventually goes through with this would be so devastating. I pray she finds the peace that passes all understanding...

Sometimes it's so hard to find the gifts. I'm thinking your beautiful post filled with loving words for those mothers...is indeed a gift...to them, to all. Like you, I can't even begin to image their pain. They will be in my thoughts & prayers today.

My heart goes out to both of these Mothers. At least one has hope that she can help heal her daughter.

Life sometimes seems so awful and then there are the new babies that come along and life goes on I guess this would be called the cycle of life.

I too have a lot of things on the go and need to clean up. I am just trying to get my stash ready to take to Florida for the winter.
At least you don't have to lug yours with you but it is worth it when I want to work on something to have it there.

Hugs
