p is for...

 pie
peach pie
fresh peach pie
mmm...my favorite

making homemade pie crust is a must-learn in this house
mrs mk was our first pie-baker
then mrs (miss) g took on the role
she took pie crust to an all new level
delish

before she (miss g) left home,
we made sure to get her recipe
and
little sis had a private cooking lesson

last week the peaches were finally ripe
so girl young-in went solo

wow
yummy

big sis...watch out...there's a new girl in town
you taught her well
~
~

here's the recipe for the crust
it has shortening and butter in it
shortening for flakiness
butter for flavor
it is good

Grace's
(and soon to be Abigail's)
World Famous PieCrust
2 1/2 cup flour
1 Tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup FROZEN shortening cut into small pieces
pulse above ingred in food processor 9 times
move to separate bowl
6 Tablespoons cold water
Stir
Add 2 Tablespoons water if needed.

Divide into 2 piles
wrap each pile in saran wrap
Refrigerate for 1 hour

~ enjoy ~

Hello Rene, how are you. On your previous post, do not feel bad that you're behind on your home renovation or blogger. I think we all have families, jobs etc. So many responsibilities and we rarely look good in everything. I'll tell you in the room where I work always desorganizado.Lo pick up and when I'm finished working again and you just accept the fact that I can not cover all the bases, I do my best, but there are days when you simply do not I can for fibromyalgia so Rene, do not worry. So that beautiful finish or appearance is your dessert. (use a translator and had put before you "that your foot looks beautiful ', so it is written in Spanish. Pe, ie, standing together is', translated pie.ja, ha, ha, ha, ha.. well Rene, is a pleasure to visit you, Rose Marie

I have never in my life made peach pie! Can you believe that. The hubs doesn't like pie so I never make it! Otherwise yours truly would eat the whole thing. oh boy.

I love how you do this post with the recipe and pictures. It's so nice of you to share. I have yet to learn to do pie crust. I just buy one at the store. Can you believe it? I made one once but it turned out pretty badly and I never did it again. Probably just didn't bake it right? I think I'll try yours.

Yum!!!! That pie looks delightful! Can I ask what the rusty nail brush/horse curry comb thingys are that you display cards and things in? I see them on a lot of american blogs and love them. Have never seen anything quite like them in Australia. Looking forward to hearing what this mystery object is. Love your blog too.

Looks delicious!! I love peaches and I will only make pie crust from scratch. I've never used frozen shortening tho...I'll have to try your recipe, I do like using both butter and shortening too. Thanks for posting it!

That peach pie sure makes my mouth water! I'm not much on making a crust, but I'll give your way a try. What a sweet girl, making pies on her own. Shows that her Mama raised her right! Enjoy both. The pie and the sweet daughter!
Hugs,
Patti

Tell Abigail she could make and sell them for a pretty penny. Peach pie is one of my favorites along with strawberry-rhubarb. Can't beat a good home made pie.

I printed the recipe and am going to try it.

Tell her she did great.

Hugs

WOW...this looks sooo good. I do love fruit pies. I can't wait to try your crust recipe. I am hungry for a cherry pie...and a peach pie...and an apricot pie (my most favorite in the world.:))
Your photos, as always, are lovely.
When my "ship comes in" or I win the lottery, whichever comes first, I will buy that camera just like yours. :)

hey i wanted to say ,i've been looking at your blog for a while .i love love love it . i just drool over your stuff.white is my thing.also the white pumpkins are very hard to find around here .farmers said deer ate them .maybe so they ate my pears which i just learned only last year to make pear preserves. anyways i went to micheals and bought really cute fake ones ,not plastic .so maybe you can get some of these if all else fails.
