my paint booth...

Last year I showed you this:
where we did our *winter painting*

We've been racking our brains for weeks trying to come up with a feasible place to paint during the winter. We have outbuildings but they are not the best for heating. The other day I looked outside towards our (unused) chicken coop and thought "THAT'S IT!"
We had turned part of it into a playhouse for the girls years ago. They weren't using it anymore and I was just using it to store my finished projects. It has a cement floor .
We made a trip to Home Depot for a space heater. After 30 minutes of moving stuff out and covering the walls with plastic to protect the wallpaper
~ VOILA! I have a paint booth!~

Let the work begin...

I've just started using it again this year.
Here's a current project:

Wow! You are so lucky to have somewhere to do your painting in the winter. I probably won't getting anything painted until spring. Painting isn't my thing lately. I really love to use my sander though and give already painted finishes and worn and aged look. Much less labor intensive than painting.

wow! Now you have your own private little space just for you! Make it cozy and fill it us with all your pretty stuff! Sounds like fun!

Have a lovely day

Oh that's a perfect spot to paint, it's so funny reading how you have to find places to paint in winter, I never really thought about that, I guess we are lucky to live in FL., when it comes to things like this (; I am curious what kind of paint sprayer you use, other than your hubby that is, when I sprayed my hutch, the sprayer spit and dribbled and then it broke, I was ready to throw it in the garbage anyways! Your projects look like they are going to be beautiful (;

How nice to have a place to paint in the winter! When I was painting signs, I ended up doing it on top of our freezer (by paintbrush). Not a great thing to do if you want something out of the freezer when you have wet signs laying on it! I usually don't paint now until it is warm...looking forward to that. It cannot come soon enough for me! Blessings!

That's a great solution. Looks like a lot of work, but they will be beautiful when they are all finished. You must show "after" pictures.

Oh boy oh boy what a sweet dwelling for spiffing up furniture pieces! It's so cute I want to live there. That okay? Me..living there? ;o)

Love the finished results - makes me want to get busy with a few pieces of my own, namely the two Martha Washington sewing cabinets in our garage rafters that are desperate need of refinishing. One was my great grandmother's so is very special. The other I found at a yard sale for $10. Grabbed that real quick like.

So......I don't mean to push you out of your work space (well, actually I do) but...when can I move in? :o) hehe.

Your painting projects amaze me. How creative to come up with the space that you did. I like that you share the projects that you both work on.

I'd really need a painting site for cold months! I have a LOT of projects to be finished, but it is truly crazy to paint outside now! I'll have to wait until Spring!
Your idea is clever, and the finished pieces soo lovely!

Everything made beautiful by a covering of white.

I love you paint booth! Your painter is quite special, too. Reminds me of my "painter/hubby" who devised a paint booth in our garage. Despite all the plastic hanging from the rafters, there was paint residue everywhere! So, now I'm back to painting everything by hand and the sprayer is taking a rest. Thanks for sharing your new space, too. We have so much in common!

Hi Rene!
I am so jealous!!! Well not really..but I sure wish I had a place like that to use..living in a subdivision just doesn't cut it for having a buildings outside to use...so my basement has to suffice for now! lol

You have a great place to paint and what lovelies you have been working on! And it looks like your sweet hubby helps too!

Blessings...Lorena

What a great idea! And now you totally have me wanting a sprayer. I figure with as much furniture painting as I do, I've earned it! Can you recommend a brand?
