the maiden voyage...

We are back from 2 glorious days of camping.

What's the sudden interest in camping, you ask?

We used  to camp...
long, long ago
but
then there were babies
and
moving into houses without plumbing.

Restoration was camping

and

 then

this happened:

Our 3 oldest married children all have campers
and
love to go  camping together.

We used to drive up for the day, eat lunch, and then drive home.

We took the plunge and bought a  trailer.

Mr and Mrs G even joined us in the adventure
with their new-to-them camper.

 I did what every proper grandmother would do;

I  took advantage of the situation

baby mo

She was such a happy camper.

The big boys played

and

the little boys played.

The girls had fun, too.

I took pictures,

and read my Mary Jane magazines,

and slept in until 9:30
which is practically unheard of for me.

Even with all of the children
it  was blissfully quiet.
I can't wait to go again.

Here's a teaser of the inside of the trailer...

I am a new folower of your blog and enjoyed seeing your camping trip-it looked like it was great fun. I also enjoyed your barn sale post-particularly since I just posted about a freind's barn sale that she holds every year (on a much smaller scale). I love love your stuff and the happy colors of your chairs. They would fit into my house perfectly. Please stop by for a visit.

So happy to hear you are using your trailer already. I don't know how you do it! I am still tired from just thinking about all the work you went through to have that big sale. The trailer is looking so much better--can't wait to see more! What great family times.

It looks like GREAT fun was had by all.

What, only a 'teaser' picture of the inside of your camper. I want to see more. I remember it needing much work and only so much time to do it in, and what I see looks fabulous.

Enjoy many happy camping moments with your family.

Rene,
Can't wait to see your camper all styled up.I am not a camper. So I guess you could say I would not be a happy camper if I were sleeping outdoors LOL.But looks like you all had a wonderful time together. And inside or outside it does not matter as long as you are all together!
Blessings,
Anne

How fun! Our oldest daughter and her husband just bought a 1956 camper and are having a blast camping with their 1 year old. Their camper has all the original 50's details and appliances inside. Can't wait to see yours.

What a sweet post! Your photos all turned out wonderful. My husband and I have talked about buying one of these. Yours looks so darling. I want to see more of the inside! Looks a bit shabby chic, Victorian maybe? :)

Thanks for sharing. Blessings for a happy Monday!

The caravan already looks so cute and fresh, whith the colours you've chosen. And the inside looks promising...!

One question: Are you free-camping, whithout electricity?

Oh, I want to see more of the interior! We are getting ready to redo the inside of my little, vintage trailer and I've planned something similar. You've inspired me to get going! Loved reading of your camping trip. Hoping you'll share more trailer soon.

I knew you would have that trailer looking just darling! I want to see MORE of it, of course!
We used to camp with our oldest daughter and her family, so I can imagine how much fun you must have had. You are making some wonderful memories for yourself and more importantly for your grandchildren.
I want a little old trailer so badly, I want to do the same to it.
