raindrops on roses...

these
are
a few
of my favorite things!

It is  officially fall.
We went from 90 degrees last weekend
to 54  yesterday and today.

Rain, gray skies, fuzzy blankets,
sweatshirts,
space heaters,
and baking goodies.

My girl and I made this
caramel-apple-upside-down cake
(found on pinterest)
yummi-o

recipe found here

Fall cleaning has begun,

my first soup of the year is simmering on the stove,

and

white pumpkins are promised for the weekend.

I am  hoping there will  be just a few more roses.

I am enjoying every. last. one.

Loved this gorgeous post! Those roses are so full and ruffly, I thought they were peonies! I love your description of early fall days at your house. So satisfying, aren't they!? And comforting, and cozy!

Rene, your photos are stunning! I love your beautiful roses, especially that first photo. Beautiful!

And I'm sitting here, in the middle of the night, wishing I had the ingredients to bake that upside-down cake. It looks sinfully decadent.

Good morning.....lovely post. Sad to see the roses leave, but there is the promise of more around the corner....in Spring. Warm soup and apple cake are two of my favorite fall things. You have inspired me to do a bit of cooking today.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Bev

That cake looks wonderful! I just started a pot of vegetable beef soup for tonight's dinner. I love the ease and comfort of a good pot of soup.

WOW - That cake sure looks great. Best looking dessert I have seen in a while.

I copied the recipe and have to remember to check KA site more often.

I had 5 apples left after eating some and I made baked apples this afternoon. They will be our treat for tonight.

Enjoy the roses. Yours are always beautiful.
