family whites...

Here a few shots from my family room the way it looked last week.  The walls were a nice cottage green.
I have  lots of farmhouse white trim
notice the lack of hardware on the commode?
that is furniture dealers do when they are short on supplies
~~rob their own stuff~~

A view of the kitchen
This is a keep-it-real post;
boy, do I  need to clean off the fridge
and how about that picture?

The entertainment center is hand-built for me by my dear MR...

we started with an old kitchen cabinet
(have I mentioned I have a thing for old cabinets-well, I do-you'll find one in practically every room here
*enough already* say the children)...
that was left with the house
(I begged for it  put it in the written contract)
and
 true to form
my boys thought the cabinet was worthless...
burn.it.they.said
I shoulda washed those boys mouths with soap.

I've been wanting to work on this room for  awhile now;
so this past weekend
my dear MR
painted for me.
I am being challenged in my decorating.
I'll give you a hint:
no lace
not sure I can do it
but
I'm gonna give it the ole college try
(go BSU!-just in case you watched the football game last night)

I'll leave you with the last of the befores:

aww, those roses sure are pretty~I'm gonna miss 'em.
and see those 3 sweet sisters?  my girls.
Have a Happy white Wednesday!

Hi Renee:
I have a commode like yours, but mine is still in its original oak finish. It's kinda falling apart at the seams, so I'm going to have to take it apart one of these days and reglue it. I love it and have had it a long time. My "almost-mother-in-law" had one next to her chair in the living room (and still does all these years later) and I decided I had to have one, too. It's as dear to my heart as she is. (We're still mother/daughter, even though I never married her son.)
I love your rooms, and can't wait to see the "afters".
Blessings,
Donna

Oh Renee,
O love the cabinet just as it is with the beautiful rose china. However, you have the magic touch and I know whatever you do, will be beautiful. Change is always refreshing. I try, but ususally go back to my romantic themes in a few weeks.

We never, but never have enough cabinets or shelves and mirrors as far as I am concerned.

I enjoy it so much looking at your home. Nice cabinet Rene, and as far as I'm concern you need them, it keeps everything in place besides they look great too. Oh girl, I have to have my lace and my pink roses.. maybe not in every room, but I have to have it, it's a big part of who I am, but I know whatever you decide for this room is is going to be a knock-out!!

I just love your house!! It is soo what I dream and strive for. I don't think my husband would be so generous as to let me have lace either, but really, that is gonna be a hard thing to not have. My heart goes out to you ;)) Can't wait to see the "after" pictures!!

No lace? Um, how can you stand it! LOL.
I put ruffles on everything except one pillow I made the other day and it just doesn't feel right!

Your home has so much vintage loveliness.

Rene', your familyroom is so lovely. I loved the glimpse into the kitchen as well. I saw nothing wrong with the frig clutter. Looks just like mine. Hey, do you find that when you put something on there that you NEED to see everyday, somehow it becomes invisible? I swear, I post it and then never read it again. Same thing with my chaulk board.LOL!
WHAT!!! NO LACE!!! I'll have to see it to believe it. It can't be done here.
hugs

I love lace in your house, are you sure about the no lace thing?

I had to laugh at the missing hardware, when I had my antiques business, I did that all the time too :) everything is so beautiful, you have a God given talent, and thankfully you are using every spec of it and it shows!!!! What a delight to visit you this morning.
