pocket full of posies...

I have been waiting
 for a l-o-n-g time
to show you this.

Remember this post
about being afraid to try new things?

Ever since I saw these pocket pillows a few years back
I have really, really wanted to make some
but I have put it off
and put it off
and...
~
~
Well, one day last January
my family was gone for the day
and
 I decided
*today
is the day.

I spent the entire day going through linens
deciding what to use where.
(Have I ever told you how much trouble I have deciding?)

By the end of the day I was here:

That was the first hard step.
They sat again for a few months
waiting to be finished.

Finally,
I couldn't put it off any more.
It was time for the photo shoot of my bedroom
and this pillow was going to be part of my bed shot.

Another day was spent embellishing with all of the  pretties.

Even though I was afraid to try
I had so much fun once I got going.
I still have so much  to learn
but there is so much satisfaction in trying.

I love them
because
they use all
of my favorite elements:

off white linen

 snippets of vintage lace

cabinet cards

and

roses.

I  enjoyed adding  romance.

This one was for my bestest of best friends.

I am so glad I tried!

Now,
 on to something else new...
You can check out all of the white pretties here.

  65. I so love you pillows and couldn't decide which one was my favorite... They are all so lovely... I tried to wake up with a great attitude this morning and once again out cleaning decks and porch from the storms... It is grey and hasy here today with the promise of some cleaning maybe this afternoon and better days ahead... It is going to get hot now... One extreme to another and that is scary as it usually brings very bad storms when that happens... Just hope for that not to happen.... I just love everything you and hubby are doing to your 100 year old house... It just has all the personality and charm one could possibly get into a home... You have a wonderful talent for stunning and charming... Blessings to you this weekend......

  73. Rene,
Oh, you did good girl! I have been loving them too, I saw Judy Hill's booth in Round Top last year & seeing her's gave me chills. Like you I keep putting off trying them for myself. You have inspired me to give it a try. The thing about this kind of thing (pillow)is that no 2 are ever the same. Yours look just like you, if I made one it would probably look like my stuff. Know what I mean? Did you use pre-made pillows to start? I think that's a brilliant idea. I think the reason I keep putting it off is because I don't want to make the whole pillow. Just foof it. Thanks once again for the inspiration! Lisa

  75. Rene' Thank you for the info on the pillows...I have some of that same VERY delightful trim that you have on your main pillow. And am anxious to use it.
I am looking for just the right material for the pillow itself.

You have to travel for a bit around here in Texas to find the real treasures..but I sure love the HUNT all the same. ~~
And I am BLESSED that my husband is getting to really enjoy the HUNT too..he see's how much I enjoy it..and he is a dear.
