I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins; And won the victory. O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever. He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood. |

Rene,
ReplyDeleteMy beloved Uncle was a Baptist Minister and he sang this hymn with such committment. I remember him telling his daughter..."You've got to claim "The Victory" when you feel it the least as well as when you feel it the most...to keep Satan at bay!!! Thanks for the memory and the reminder!!! Victory, indeed!
Fondly,
Pat
Another beautiful old hymn. Thank you for the lift of the beautiful words. Hope your Resurrection Sunday was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis has always been my all time favorite! When I was a kid, on Sunday nights at church we could request music for singing time. I ALWAYS asked for this song - they stopped calling on me. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Rene,
