It's that time...

TAX time.
Time to figure out how I did.

Did I get paid to play

or

Will it come out awash?

All in all,
I came out OK.
a small amount of profit

BUT
I got to stay at home

And do what I love.
Not bad.

REJOICE

Rejoice with those that rejoice;

mourn with those that mourn...

romans 12:15

These are words I have used often with my children.

The past weeks have been such an opportunity

for me to put them into practice.

I posted awhile back about the loss of our precious Ellie Rene'.

BUT this week I got another phone call~

"we're pregnant!"

My oldest son and his wife are expecting!

After 3 years of struggle with infertility!

Again, the tears flowed.

THANKS be to God-He is good!

treasure hunting...

We had a great time in Portland-my husband is getting on board with this painting thing so we had to hit all (well, not quite all) the thrift stores.

Saturday, we went to the 3-friends sale near Salem.

I had found it through links on Lisa's blog.

First, we headed to Molly Mo's-just gorgeous! I loved her style-she did a great job of display. I found these treaures here.

Next, off to Auntie Joy's-here I found this
vintage wedding dress-

I thought about it for my daughter's graduation dress (you know how in the old photos the girls always wore white dresses) but we're not sure if it's too weddingish. But I love it anyway and will find a place for it.

I also met Sheila, another blogger: very friendly.

Finally, we made it to Tarte's. By the time we got there it was picked over but I could tell that there had been some great stuff. But I did find these 2 victorian chairs that I fell in love with. Are they too shabby to be chic? I just thought they needed me (or do I need them?)

Oh well, here they are-we shall see what becomes of them.

All 3 ladies were soo hospitable-

it was great fun to meet new friends.

I have to tell you about something that Miss Gracie's has done for me. I am a very reserved and shy person and sometimes (OK most of the time:)not all that social-I kind of like being by myself. But since I've been doing this, I find myself coming out of my shell. It's like a whole new me. Lisa, you don't know how big of a thing that was for me to do...to put my hand out to you to introduce myself. I'm soo glad I did.

Being to these sales reminded me how much fun it is to have them-so they encouraged me to do it again. Soo, I have set the date and am working on all of the details.

Stay tuned ofr more details to follow for the next Miss Gracie's and Friends Sale to be held at my home.

28 years...

We had a wonderful time in Portland celebrating.

~Let me tell you about us~

We were only babies when we got married

How else could it be 28 years?

Seriously, we were both 19-

seems like babies these days...

We met and dated in high school-

I think he caught my atttention with his laugh-

I love it and it still cheers me up.

My husband is an eternal optomist-

which is perfect for me.

I'm always the analyzer, the critiquer, the rain on the parade.

My husband loves me with a child-like love~unconditionally.

He puts up with all of my ideas

and

bails me out when I get in too deep.

My husband is loyal and faithful.

He loves the Lord and

gives his life to serve others.

My husband is my best friend.

and

I am blessed.

I'll be back tomorrow to share pics of where we went and what it inspired.

spring is in the air!

The weather has been soo nice~
We have been busy pulling items out of the barn

to fix, paint and get to the shop.

All of the whites are so cheerful!

The coach (husband) and I have been working together
for the last 3 days...
he is really starting to take an interest in this business;
it has been different doing it together.

But, hey, what's his is mine and what's mine is his, right?

That means the air compressor, too?

Overall, I've been pleased with our progress,

now I have to part with that church pew-

it's soo much prettier now,

it's tempting to keep it,

but where, oh where, would I put it?

The Coach and I are off to Portland

for our anniversary celebration...

it's been 28 years and we still like to work together!

too many buffets...

What's a girl to do?

I have 4 buffets...

this one is very victorian ....

this one is primitive & shabby...
but doesn't match my colors as well

this one that I found and have refurbished...

oh ya, there's one more out in the barn waiting to be finished...

I can't keep them all...what's your pick?

Leave a comment and help me to decide:)

THANKS bunches...
ETA: I know this seems rather trivial after my last post but going outside and working on my projects is therapeutic for me.

a tribute to Ellie Rene'

I started this blog to let you know a little about me.
Well, mostly it's been the fun and *fluffy* stuff.

This past week has brought different things into my life.

so many emotions, so many memories, so many blessings

Last week my daughter called me with the dreaded news-"they can't find a heartbeat." She was 24 weeks.

In an instant, I was taken back: the pain, the empty arms, the years of grief-my pain, my empty arms, my years of grief. And now my firstborn will walk this same path. Oh, I am soo sorry...
Mothers want to fix
everything, you know.
But I can't.

Oh, and it's a girl...our first granddaughter...and she will have your name...I am honored but soo sad...

Ellie Rene'

and so we had a memorial sevice on Monday...to praise our God in whom we have hope... to honor and let the world know that we cherished this little life...I was soo blessed to see all of my children come around their sister...this is what family is for.

Praise be to God...the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in trouble with the comfort we have received from God.
2 Cor. 1:3

Thanks for reading...I'll be back soon.
